EVERETT PURVIS
Everett C. Purvis, 65, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of St. Joseph, MO, passed away, Saturday, September 23, 2006.
He was born on December 27, 1940 to Clark and Lucille Fern (Eskridge) Purvis in Leavenworth, KS. Everett grew up in Edgerton and graduated from North Platte High School in 1958. He then served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.
On November 20, 1965 he was united in marriage to Patty Sue Trail. After their marriage they lived in Platte and Buchanan counties.
He was baptized at the Ridgely Christian Church and was a member of the Dearborn Christian Church. Everett was a member of the Teamsters Local 41. Everett was also a great story teller.
Everett worked for Intercontinental Engineering in Riverside for 27 years, retiring in 2005.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clark and father-in-law, Russell Trail.
Everett is survived by his wife, Patty, of the home, two sons, Russell Purvis and wife, Kris, Kansas City, MO, and Lee Purvis and wife, Christine, St. Joseph, MO; granddaughter, Vivianne Kahlan, his mother, Lucille Purvis, Plattsburg, MO; sister, Linda Blankenship and husband, John, Edgerton, MO; mother-in-law, Leta Trail, St. Joseph, MO; nieces, Stephanie Wilcoxson and Amanda Baker, special friend, Keith Martin, Liberty, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 27th at the Ridgely Christian Church
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery
Visitation: 5:30-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Edgerton.
