Evelyn Wright

Evelyn Wright, 91, of Platte City, MO passed away, Thursday, June 20, 2019.

She was born on December 11, 1927 to Perry Oakland and Callie Frances (Deets) Bryan in Dearborn, MO. Evelyn grew up in Dearborn and graduated from Dearborn High School.On December 27, 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles E. Wright. After their marriage they lived in Camden Point and in 1955 they moved to Platte City where they made their home. Her husband, Charlie, preceded her in death on July 17, 2015.

Evelyn and her sister Betty operated The Stylette Beauty Shop in Platte City. She was a clerk in the Platte County Circuit Court Division for many years and retired in 1998.

She was a member of the Platte City Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, shopping and most of all spending time with her family.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Perry Bryan and Robert Bryan; sisters, Betty Poage and Frances Green.

She is survived by her daughters Cathy Rose and husband Bob and Trudy Luther and husband Kelvin; granddaughter, Taylor Ritter; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bryan and Jeanette Bryan; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25th at New Market Cemetery, New Market, MO.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northcare Hospice.
