Evelyn Lorene (Ashworth) Brownlee
Evelyn Brownlee, 85, of Smithville, MO passed away, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was born on November 28, 1925 to William Earl and Helen Faye (Ptomy) Ashworth in Highland, Kansas where she grew up and attended school.
On January 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Junior Brownlee. After their marriage they lived in Troy, Kansas and in 1959 they moved to Smithville where they made their home and raised their family.
Evelyn was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Smithville.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Betty Jo; brothers, Bo and Ronnie Ashworth and sister, Jean Thomas.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth of 66 years; daughter, Nancy Pigg and husband Elbert, Smithville; son, Jeff Brownlee, Independence, MO; eight grandchildren, Judy and husband Jim, Terry and wife Dawnia, Trevor and wife Tammy, Tara and husband Jimmy, Jeremy and wife Chandra, Jenna Beth, Amy, and Allen and Rachelle; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Cooke and husband Ron and Mary Larkin and husband Terry; brother, Butch Ashworth and wife Sharon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd at the First Christian Church in Smithville with visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
