EUNICE V. WILEGUS

Eunice V. Wilegus, 94, of rural Stewartsville, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 31, 2006.

She was born on May 25, 1911 to George Washington Carver and Lucy Carrie (Oberlag) Williams in Foristell, MO, where she grew up and attended school.

On November 2, 1932 she was united in marriage to Frank Wilegus in Troy, MO. After their marriage they lived in Foristell and in 1942 they moved to Kansas City, KS. In 1981 they retired and moved to rural Stewartsville where they made their home. Her husband, Frank, passed away, November 5, 1996.

Eunice was a lifelong homemaker. She was also a census taker and served on the county election board in Wyandotte County, KS.

She was a member of the Shawnee Boulevard Christian Church in Kansas City, KS, where she was a member of the Christian Womens Fellowship. Eunice also attended the Bethany Christian Church in Stewartsville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James and Lloyd Williams, and three granddaughters.

Eunice is survived by two sons, Don G. Wilegus and wife, Alice, Germantown, Wisconsin, John E. Wilegus and wife, Mary, Stewartsville, MO, three daughters, Betty Edwards, Kansas City, KS, Frankie Steinke Mahaffey, Peculiar, MO, and Dorothy Parrish and husband, Lee, Eagle, Nebraska, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Allen Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethany Christian Church.
