Eugenia “Jeannie” (O’Neal) Powell

Eugenia “Jeannie” (O’Neal) Powell, 66, of St. Joseph, MO went to be with the Lord, July 27, 2013 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

 

Jeannie was born on December 9, 1946 to Eugene R and Maxine J (McPike) O’Neal in St. Joseph, MO.

 

Jeannie married Lee “Eddie” Powell on December 20, 1962 in St. Joseph, MO.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage.

 

Jeannie was a Christian.  She attended the Heritage Church and King Hill Christian Church.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Jeannie enjoyed family gatherings and special moments with her grandchildren.

 

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Maxine O’Neal; and sisters, Rosemary Smith and Linda McGrew.

 

Jeannie is survived by her husband Lee “Eddie” Powell; children, Lee ‘Ed” Powell III, Robert L Powell and wife Deanna and Tracy L Mace and husband Tony; grandchildren, Devin Powell,  Jaceson Powell, Dylan Powell, Tucker Powell, Corey Mace and Hannah Mace; siblings, Betty Barzoloski and husband Dick, Beverly Mott and husband John, Jack O’Neal, Mike O’Neal and wife Debi, Barbara Dudley and husband Gary and Richard O’Neal; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 31^st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home Gower with visitation from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
