Eugene Mindrup

 

Eugene Mindrup, 80, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Saturday, July 16, 2011.

He was born on August 18, 1930 to John Henry and Thekla Catherine (Gieseke) Mindrup in Edgerton, Missouri, where he grew up and graduated from Edgerton High School. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

On February 3, 1953 he was united in marriage to Louise Reineke. After their marriage they lived in Barstow, CA, in 1954 they returned to Edgerton, and in 1958 they moved to rural Kansas City where they made their home.

Gene worked for Excelsior Manufacturing and Supply Corporation in Kansas City for 32 years.

He was a member of the Barry Christian Church, where he served as Chairman of the Board, and was a Sunday School Teacher.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, of the home; children, Keith Mindrup and wife Vicky, Independence, MO and Cindy Hunter and husband Tony, Arlington, TN; grandchildren, Nicolle Hays and husband Jason, Shawn Mindrup and wife Angelina, Seth Hunter and Chad Hunter; great-grandson, Tucker; brother Leroy Mindrup and wife Rosie; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday with visitation one hour prior to the service at Barry Christian Church.

Private Family Inurnment: Ridgely Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the church.
