Ersil Farris James

 

 

Ersil F. James, 75, of Plattsburg, MO, formerly of Edgerton, MO passed away, Sunday, October 27, 2013.

 

He was born on February 23, 1938 to William Goebel and Ola H. (Saunders) James in Wallingford, KY.  Ersil graduated from Flemingsburg, Kentucky High School.  He then served his country in the U.S. Navy. 

 

In 1960 he was united in marriage the Bettie Lou Cundiff.  After their marriage they lived in Edgerton, MO and Plattsburg, MO.

 

Ersil worked at Dave Littleton Ford, and later owned and operated James Body Shop in Edgerton.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and mostly being with his family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leonard Paul James, sister, Thelma Jewell Marshall, and daughter-in-law, Tonya James.

 

He is survived by four sons, Mike James, Sacville, WI, Billy James and Karen Johnson, Hamilton, MO, Goebel James and wife Sherri, Edgerton, MO, and Eric James and wife Lisa, Plattsburg, MO; grandchildren, Jason, Allison, Steven, Tyler, Joshua, Andrew, Piper, Megan, Jennifer, Ashley, Kaleb, Julia, and Zachary; five great-grandchildren, Kolt, Nicholas, Paige, Blake, and Lilly; sister, Mabel Johnson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Military Honors Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, MO. with visitation following until 2:30 p.m.
