Ernest D. Cone
Ernest D. Cone, 58 years old, of Lathrop, MO, passed away in Kansas City, MO on April 16, 2009.
Ernest was born August 26, 1950 in Smithville, MO to David A. and Martha Mae (Justus) Cone. He joined the US Army in 1968 and served his country with honor until 1971. Ernie served for three tours of duty in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Ernie was employed with ADM for 27 years. He married Margaret A. Parman on September 15, 1972. He enjoyed time with his family and savored time with his four grandchildren. Ernie loved to watch car racing and several different sporting events and loved to work on cars. He enjoyed many things throughout his life including: lottery tickets, cigarettes and Diet Pepsi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Cone.
Ernie is survived in death by his wife Margaret A. Cone of Lathrop, MO, his daughters Stacey L. Gasper and her husband George and grandchildren Joshua, Hunter and Tanner, Columbus, NE, Shelley K. Pratt and her husband Brad and grandson Jake of Liberty, MO; his son Scott A. Cone of Lathrop, MO; brothers David R. Cone of Kansas City, MO and Donald L. Cone of Smithville, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with Military Honors Service at 3:00 p.m.
Inurnment: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21st at Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO
