Ermagene Elizabeth (Strube) LaFollette

Ermagene Elizabeth (Strube) LaFollette, 81, of Agency, MO, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her home.

She was born on February 7, 1927 to Joseph Anthony and Agnes Anna (Fisher) Strube in Hurlingen, MO. Ermagene graduated valedictorian from Easton High School in 1945. In 1947 she graduated from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College. After her graduation, Ermagene taught school for five years in several surrounding schools.

On June 17, 1950 at Seven Dolores Church in Hurlingen, Missouri she was united in marriage to Ellis Richard LaFollette. After their marriage they lived in the Frazier Community where they farmed and raised eleven children. Ermagene was a loving mother and homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton, MO, where she taught Catechism and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Hurlingen Extension Club and was a leader for the Frazier 4-H Club.

Ermagene was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Crystal Jeanel Marie Adkins, and sister Bernetta Wilson.

She is survived by her husband Ellis, children, Richard Ellis LaFollette and wife, MaryAnn, Randall Joseph LaFollette and wife, Kathy, Jeanel Marie Adkins, Rodney Allen LaFollette and wife, Ann, Roger Thomas LaFollette and wife, Rebecca, Jana Louise Franklin and husband, David, Robert Ray LaFollette and wife, Jean, Jill Ann Henrick and husband, Scott, Jolene Agnes LaFollette and husband, Ron, Russell James LaFollette and wife, Pam and Ronald Eugene LaFollette and wife, Lydia, twenty-seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, brother, Alfred Strube and sister-in-law Kathleen, other relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2nd at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton

Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Easton

Rosary: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.
