Yancy Shepard

Yancy Shepard, 52, of Edgerton, MO passed away, April 12, 2023.

He was born on October 22, 1970 in Kansas City, Kansas. Yancy grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1989. He always had a passion for racing, animals and his family.

On June 8, 1996 he was united in marriage to Kandis Cox. After their marriage they lived in Gladstone where he owned and operated Yancy’s Automotive. Yancy moved his shop to Smithville in 2002 and in 2004 they moved to Edgerton.

He is survived by his wife, Kandis; children, Dylan Shepard, Keeley (Tyler) Collins, and Wyatt Shepard (Savannah); grandchildren, Ashtyn and Saylor; father, Rickie Shepard; mother, Judy Shepard; sister, Rachael Shepard; brothers, Rickie Shepard, Jr and Johnie Shepard; aunt, Sue Jones; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mikel and Judith Cox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Derek and Jen Cox, Jason and Angie Cox, and Charles and Alicia Lee; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22nd with visitation one hour prior at Vineyard Church, 12300 Arrowhead Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64165.

    So sorry to hear about this. Spent many nights at his shop in Gladstone as a teenager laughing, learning and just hanging out. I loved and owned a mustang and he would work on my car and always took care of me and did a great job. So many great memories. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends.
