Virginia French, 89, Smithville, MO passed away, Friday, May 18, 2018.  

She was born on July 21, 1928 to James Arthur and Mayme Marie (Vinzant) Weaver in Buchanan County, MO.  

On February 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to Lilburn French.  After their marriage they farmed near Edgerton, and later moved Smithville.  Her husband, Lilburn, passed away on November 30, 1971.

Virginia worked at Spelman Memorial Hospital/Saint Luke’s Northland Hospital in Smithville for over 30 years.  She loved gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking, and collecting angels.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carol Young and husband Miller; grandchildren, Eric Young and Michelle Lemons and husband Ken; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Brittaney and Blake; two-great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild on the way; other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral Service:  3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  

Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
