Terry Neil Myers
Terry Neil Myers, 82, of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017.

He was born and raised in King City, MO to John Henry and Stella (Lewis) Myers, the ninth of ten children.  He carried the St. Joseph News Dispatch Daily Newspaper in King City.  He was a graduate of King City High School where he was on the basketball team.  Terry worked as a truck driver out of King City, where he hauled horses
to the Amish in Pennsylvania as well as other things.

Terry then went to work for the old CB&Q Railroad which later became the BNSF Railroad.  He retired from there after 45 years as an Engineer.  Terry always had a second occupation, overhauling transmissions for many years, and also farmed.

Terry moved his family to Edgerton, Missouri where he was active in the community.  He was a little league coach and also served as Mayor.  Terry was a member of the Adelphi Lodge #355 A.F.&A.M. in Edgerton and gave lectures to many other lodges.  He and the children also carried the St. Joseph Press Dispatch Daily Newspaper there.  Terry moved to the farm south of Smithville, Missouri in 1977.  He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Terry could always be counted on to do the right thing.  He always tried to follow Jesus’s teaching.  He helped anyone who needed help and was liked for his good sense of humor and talent as a storyteller.  He set a high standard for all of us and we will miss him terribly.  We will not see his like again.

Terry is survived by his wife of forty years, Sandra Blackford Myers; daughters Terri (Tim) Spencer, Omaha, NE,  Kathleen (David) Little, Kansas City, MO and Elizabeth (Seth) Mayo, Pasadena, MD; sons Robert (Sharon) Myers, Kansas City, MO and Kelly (Rhonda) Myers, Jefferson City, MO; step-sons William Finley, Kansas City, MO and Michael Blackford, Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Ellanora Thornton, King City, MO; brother John Myers, Flower Mound, TX; other relatives and many friends.

Family services will be held later.
