Shirley Lair, 84, of Smithville, MO passed away, March 18, 2022.

She was born on December 16, 1937 to General Sigle and Gladys Vera (Graham) Evans in Tecumseh, MO. Shirley grew up and attended school in Tecumseh.

On May 18, 1954 she was united in marriage to Reid Lair. The family moved to Platte County from West Plains in 1965 and made their home in Smithville. Her husband, Reid, passed away, September 10, 2017.

Shirley was a member of Little Platte Baptist Church and attended Paradise Baptist Church. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robbie Lair; brothers, Burl Evans, JR Evans, and Gerald Evans; and sister, Juhree House.

Shirley is survived by her children, Rick Lair, Vicky Lair, and Cindy Lair; grandchildren, Michelle Benson, Stacy Benson, Alison (Ernest) Holloway, Megan Lair, Hannah (Richard) Clarkson; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Rylee, Morgan, Nevaeh, Channing (Joe), and Wyatt; sister, Janice Hall; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville.

Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23rd at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Tecumseh, MO.

Burial: Clear Springs Cemetery, Tecumseh, MO.
