Russell Price, 80, of Gower, MO passed away, Monday, October 9, 2017.
 
He was born on January 7, 1937 to Vernal Russell and Gladys Catherine (Synder) Price in Kansas City, MO.  Russell grew up and attended school in Kansas City and Gower, and later attended UMKC.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy and during the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force.  
 
He was united in marriage to Audrey (Taylor) Hopkins for 55 years.  After their marriage they lived in the Plattsburg area and in 1964 they moved to the Gower area where they made their home.  
 
Russell was a member of the Christian Church in Taos, New Mexico where he taught Sunday School. 

He was a dispatcher for Bill Woods Ford and worked in maintenance at Spelman Memorial Hospital for many years.
 
Russell enjoyed reading, oil painting, mowing and being outdoors.  He raced stock cars and liked demolition derbys.  He took flying lessons.  Russell built and flew Remote Control Airplanes with his son Brian, and was a member of the Dam Busters Club.  Russell played the guitar, banjo, steel guitar, mandolin and the fiddle.  He and Audrey enjoyed camping with their KC Northland Sams camping club and friends, and riding his motorcycle.  Russell was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family.
 
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Chester Jones, sister, Roxana Simpson, son Brian Price, and step-sons Doug and Edward Hopkins.
 
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; his son, Mike Shultz; grandchildren, Cody Price, Whitley Price, and Rhiannon Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Collin, Hailey, Jaylyn, Brianna, and Brian;  sister, Roslyn Murphy; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life:  11:00 a.m.  Friday, October 20th with visitation at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at Northland Cathedral, Kansas City, MO.
Inurnment a at later date at Grayson Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Northland Cathedral.
