Ron Marasco

Ronald (Ron) Dale Marasco, 80, of Platte City, MO passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022 at Tiffany Springs Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Kansas City, MO. Graveside memorial services will be held this spring, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery on South Odell Avenue in Marshall, MO. The family intends to greet friends and relatives in Indian Foothills Park immediately following the memorial. More information on the memorial service will be forthcoming. Ron was born on January 12, 1942 in Davenport, IA to Peter and Leone (Warren) Marasco. Ron spent his childhood in California and attended Chula Vista High School. After graduation he joined the law enforcement service, eventually retiring after thirty years. Initially he was a Police Patrolman and then transitioned to the Federal Bureau of Prisons eventually serving as an Associate Warden and ultimately the Safety Administrator for the Northern Region. Ron was awarded several citations and accommodations over his career in law enforcement. After his retirement from the Bureau of Prisons Ron continued his public service by serving the Platte City Missouri Public Works Department for twelve years until his retirement.

Ron married Sandra Marasco in 1997 in Platte City, MO. They were happily married for 24 years. 

Ron was a proud 53-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Englewood, CO. He enjoyed working on and reading about cars and hot rods, cooking and his dogs!

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Leone Marasco, his son Ronal Marasco, his daughter Heather Marasco and one brother-in-law Bob Pace. Ron is survived by his wife Sandra of Platte City, MO; his son Donal (Barrie) Marasco of Grove Heights, MN; his stepson Tony (Julie) Borchers of Leawood, KS; his brother Rick (Betty) Marasco of Killeen, TX; his brother-in-law Edward (Lynda) Bergman of Lee’s Summit, MO and his sister-in-law Jan Pace of Higginsville, MO;7 grandchildren; 3 nieces, several great nieces and nephews and several great, great nieces and nephews.
