Rick Lee Buckler

Rick Lee Buckler, 57, of New Market, MO passed away April 29, 2019 at his home surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born on August 12, 1961 to David and Vivian Lee (Jolly) Buckler in Atchison, KS. Rick grew up and attended school in Dearborn, MO. 

On July 2, 1987 he was united in marriage to Tanya Marie Kempt. After their marriage they lived in New Market where they made their home. 

Rick worked for Platte-Clay Electric, medically retiring after 38 years of loyal service. He started out on the brush crew and worked his way up to Journeyman/Lineman. Rick was part of the crew that helped in Kiln, MS for 14 days working to restore power after hurricane Katrina. 

He spent several summers running in the demolition derby at the Platte County Fair. Rick enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, working in his shop, darts, washers, mushroom hunting, and most of all spending time at the lot with his grandchildren. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July where they had a big party at the lot with family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, David Buckler, his mother and step-father, Vivian and Charles Hill and his father-in-law, Jack Kempt.

Rick is survived by his wife Tanya Buckler; children Meredith Corradino and husband Johnny and Phillip Buckler and wife Christi; grandchildren Ethan, Jack, Ryan, Josi, and Jace; sisters Cindy Buckler and Kathy Buckler; step-brother Kerry Hill; cousin who was like a brother Phillip D. Buckler; brothers-in-law Kevin Ranner and wife Jennie and John Kempt and wife Sue; niece Brandi Green; nephews J.T. Kempt and Kaulen Ranner; his Platte-Clay Electric brothers who were like another family; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 5:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1st Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO 

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2nd at the funeral home. 

Burial: New Market Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, Rick requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
