Richard Warren

Richard Warren, 88, of Smithville, MO passed away, May 16, 2023.

He was born on July 2, 1934 to Ol Franklin and Gladys Mae (Ford) Warren in Smithville, MO. Richard grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School.
On February 15, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carol Gustin. After their marriage they lived in Smithville. In 1991 they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, and later moved to Kansas City North. His wife, Carol, passed away, September 11, 2006. In 2011 Richard returned to Smithville where he made his home with Doris Rogers.
Richard worked at Cook Paint and Varnish in North Kansas City, where he retired as manager after 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, building things with his brother, traveling, cooking and socializing with friends.
Richard was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Reeves Justus; and brother, Donald Warren.
He is survived by his children, Cathy (Larry) McDonald, Teresa (Gary) Scott, and Donna (Dan) Corless; grandchildren, Mary Schulz, Amber Toates, Aubrey Wilson, Jason (Heather) Scott, Sherri (Derek) Vetter, Jeffrey Scott, and Danielle (Mike) Jones; several great-grandchildren; niece, Carolyn Decett and her family; Doris Rogers and her children, Joy Koch and Debbie Vaughn; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service with Military Honors: 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20th at Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
Donations may be made to the Northcare Hospice House.
