Paul William Cummings was born on October 22, 1939, near Liberty, MO to Paul Cummings and Julia E. Moore Cummings. Paul received his degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.

On September 8, 1963, he was united in marriage to Patricia Smith. He taught and coached in Kearney and Smithville before farming full time. In 1985, Paul and his family moved to Raymore, Missouri where he taught and coached in the Ray-Pec school district. During his coaching career, Paul won over 300 games and won the girls' state basketball championship in 1993.

After retiring, Paul moved his family back to Smithville where they resided in his childhood home.

Paul is survived by his wife Pat, sister Nancy Richard of Baldwin, KS, son Vince and wife Amie, daughters Debbie Curry and husband George, Sandy Henshaw and husband Matt, Angie Cox and husband Aaron, Diane Migletz and fiance Shannon Webb, and Pam Weis, 18 grandchildren - Samantha, Stephanie, Tony, Staci, Victor, Connor, Adrianna, Danielle, Maddie, Kyli, Jaci, Callie, Lauren, Dante, Jimmy, Miranda, John & Audrey. Paul had 2 great grandchildren Nino & Leo. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. 

 Visitation: 12:30-2:30 p.m. with Eulogy at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville.
