Lawrence Dean Stubbs, 85 of Edgerton, MO passed away November 1, 2020. 

He was born on October 30, 1935 to Ray and Hattie Jane (French) Stubbs in rural Platte County where he grew up and graduated from Smithville High School.

On October 29, 1958 he was united in marriage to Darlene “Elaine” Mayfield. After their marriage they resided on the family farm for 54 years. Elaine passed away on March 15, 2013.

He was a member of the Little Platte Baptist Church. Lawrence enjoyed being on the farm, tending to his animals, had a farmers appetite and enjoyed family dinners. Most of all he loved being with his friends and family. 

 Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Stubbs; his son Jeffrey Stubbs; his parents Ray and Hattie Stubbs; brother Richard Stubbs and wife Dorothy; sisters Betty Howe and husband Harold, and Doris Hattey and husband David. 

He is survived by daughter Vicki Silvey; granddaughter, Rachael Fulk and husband, Aaron; great-grandchildren Isaac and Abigail; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
