Glenn Edward “Suds” Sutherland died unexpectedly at home on March 3, 2018 in Smithville, Missouri at the age of 71.

Glenn is survived by his son, Cory Sutherland (Kathryn) of Smithville, Missouri; and stepson Jonathan Theobald of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Amelia and Sophia; step grandchildren Aspen and Syah; siblings, Jim (Kay), Dee Ann, Wayne (Sue), Mark (Christie) and sister in law Vicki (Whinery). He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Alan.

Glenn was born on September 5, 1946 in Horton, Kansas to Orville James and Esther June (Gardiner) Sutherland. He graduated from Highland High School in 1964 and Highland Community College. 

Glenn served his country during the Viet Nam War as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a generous individual who loved following sports, reading political blogs and watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. He was passionate about his grandchildren.

Glenn published the Highland Vidette for many years while running his printing business, Sutherland Printing, in Highland, Kansas. After leaving the printing business, he worked at Green Acres as the production manager for 19 years. After he retired in 2014, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters. He also enjoyed working on various woodworking projects his son
and daughter in law talked him into doing.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 with visitation one hour prior at the Vineyard Church, 12300 NW Arrowhead Trfy, Kansas City, MO 64165, with a reception to follow at the Vineyard. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Glenn’s life.
