Dorothy (Snook) Kneib
Dorothy Louise (Snook) Kneib, 82, of St. Joseph, MO formerly of Edgerton, MO passed away, May 5, 2018 at the Living Community of St. Joseph.
 
She was born on March 3, 1936 to Roy William and Zelma Lou (Hornback) Snook in Smithville, MO.  Dorothy grew up in
Edgerton. In 1954 she graduated from North Platte High School.  She later graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO and received her Master’s Degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia.  
 
Dorothy began her teaching career in 1957 teaching 5th grade in Keokuk, Iowa.  In 1959 Dorothy began her employment with the St. Joseph School District, where she was a teacher for 15 years and
in Administration for 15 years.  She served at McKinley, Thomas Edison, Lindbergh, Neely, and Hosea. 
 
She was a member of the King Hill United Methodist Church, until its closing and then became a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.  Dorothy was also a member of the P.E.O, Delta Kappa Gamma, a lifetime member of Northwest Missouri State University Alumni, the St. Joseph Retired Teachers Association and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
 
Dorothy dedicated her life to serving and caring for others.  
 
On March 26, 1988 she was united in marriage to Marvin John Raymond Kneib.  After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home.  Marvin passed away on January 26, 2015.
 
She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-son Charles Marvin Kneib; sister Gladys Virginia; and three brothers Jewell, Raymond and Marion Snook.
 
Dorothy is survived by her step-sons, Danny Kneib and wife Cathy and Mike Kneib and wife Sue; step-daughter-in-law, Susan Kneib; step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Staley Snook and Earl Snook and wife Dianne; sisters Marjorie Stubbs and husband Walt and Martha Jane Williams and husband David; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
 
Celebration of Life:  11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12th with visitation one hour prior to the service at Wesley United Methodist Church, St. Joseph, MO.
