Maxine (Blankenship) Tester

Eunice Maxine Tester, 89, of Kearney, MO passed away, April 4, 2016.

She was born on November 10, 1926 to Robert H. and Sarah E. (Boydston) Blankenship in rural Platte County.  She graduated from Smithville High School in 1944.

On January 31, 1946 she was united in marriage to Andrew F. Tester of rural Platte County.  After their marriage they lived on farms in Platte, Clay, and Clinton counties.  Born to this marriage were a son, Bennie, and a daughter, Andrea Sue.  Her husband preceded her in death on December 8, 1992.

She worked in the nursing profession for Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville for several years.  Maxine enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of the Paradise Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Andrea Sue Smith, and nine brothers and sisters.

Maxine is survived by her son, Bennie Tester and wife Deborah, Holt, MO; grandchildren, Connie (Jeremy) Decker, Brian Smith, Sarah (Jerry) Moyer, Rachel (Jesse) Schemm, and Paul (Tiffany) Tester; eleven great-grandchildren; Zachary, Austin, Isabayla, Hannah, Matthew, Axel, Emma, Josephine, Andrew, Makayla, and Sadie; three sisters, Thelma (Jack) Shreve, Shirley Abbott, and Peggy Rick; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services:  11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Visitation:    6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial:  Ridgely Cemetery

Donations may be made to the Paradise Baptist Church.
