Mary Evelyn (Roberts) Hayden Nichols, 87, of Kansas City, MO passed away, Saturday, August 12, 2017.

 

Evelyn was born on May 11, 1930 to Thomas and Myrtle Roberts of Haleyville, AL

 

She married William W. Hayden and raised three children Daniel, Cheryl, and Debra in Smithville, MO.

 

Evelyn received employee of the year from American Airlines and at age 82, she retired form St. Luke’s Northland Hospital.  She enjoyed traveling with her daughters throughout Europe, especially Ireland, where she kissed the Blarney Stone, enhancing her “gift of gab”.   

 

She was a member of the LDS- Tiffany Springs Ward.

 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eva May Wilson brother William “Billy” Roberts; son Daniel Walter Hayden; grandson Jared Hayden Smith.

 

She is survived by daughters Cheryl Hayden Smith and fiancé David Ferron and Debra Hayden Hathaway and husband Rob; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters Louise; and one brother.  

 

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Platte City, MO

Burial:  Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, MO

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
