Karen Jo DuBois

Karen Jo DuBois, 64, of Lawson, MO entered into the presence of the Lord on August 4, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. 

She was born on December 6, 1956, to Joseph Leon and Lois Virginia (Huntsucker) McCullough in Independence, MO where she grew up and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1975. Karen attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. 

On July 16, 1977, she was united in marriage to Joseph Anthony DuBois. They lived in Kansas City MO, Jacksonville, FL, Baton Rouge, LA, Ft. Worth, TX, Ogden, UT, Andover, KS and in 2003 they moved to Lawson, MO where they have made their home. 

Karen worked as a para for children with autism and was a preschool teacher. She was an active member of the Lawson Baptist Church and multiple Quilt Guilds. She enjoyed making quilts for family and friends. Karen had a servant’s heart. She was compassionate, generous, kind, loving and was always sharing her faith with others. Karen was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, community and all the children she taught. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents. 

Karen is survived by her husband Joseph DuBois; daughters Melissa (Craig) Dieker and Nicole (Jon) Stutzman; grandchildren Harrison, Hudson, Colson, Ashton, Brooklyn, McKinley, Joslyn and grandbaby due in December; sister Katrina McCullough; brother Kevin (Holly) McCullough; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, August 9th at Lawson Baptist Church, Lawson, MO

Funeral Service: 10:00 am Tuesday, August 10th at Lawson Baptist Church, Lawson, MO

Burial: Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO
