Evelyn Mooneyham, 103, of Smithville, MO passed away, February 4, 2022.

She was born on March 25, 1918 to Randolph D. and Olivia Mae (Tays) Herrington in Kansas City, Kansas. Evelyn she grew up in Platte County and graduated from North Kansas City High School. She then attended William Jewell College.

In October of 1941 she was united in marriage to Charles Mooneyham, Jr. After their marriage they lived in rural Platte County where they made their home. They later divorced and he preceded her in death.

Evelyn worked as a ward secretary at Spelman Hospital in Smithville and retired after several years. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard and playing bingo.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jack, Thelma Jean, and James; grandchildren, Keith and Jerry; great-grandchildren Anna, Connor, and Josh.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Cara Sue Holdsworth and Patricia Miles; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with a Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m.
