Earl "Buster" Snider

Earl W. “Buster” Snider, Jr passed away on April 13, 2021 at NorthCare Hospice House.

Earl was born September 13, 1937 in Platte County, MO. Most knew him as Buster through the years. Always an avid car enthusiast, he retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1990. Buster also loved motorcycles and raised his boys riding with the Mid America Trials Team. He enjoyed the many road trips on his Kawasaki 900 as well. He relished the outdoors and enjoyed camping and hunting and always managed an enormous garden of fresh vegetables and berries every summer. Buster and Joy made many lasting friendships as they traveled the US in their RV and stayed many winters in Tucson, AZ. They were also very involved in the Plattsburg Artist Coalition where they exhibited and sold creative gourds and jewelry. He was also a masterful wood smith.

Buster was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ida Lee Snider and sisters Juanita Houx and Marilee Campbell. 

He will be greatly missed as he leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Joy. His sons, Jeff Snider of Denver, CO and Darel Snider and wife Sheryl of Plattsburg, MO. Grandchildren Sarah (AJ) Schumacher of Kansas City, MO, Nathan Snider of Grand Junction, Colorado, Brad Snider of Kansas City, MO, Ethan Snider of Denver, Colorado, Hannah Snider of Lenexa, KS and great grandson Tesher Schumacher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the NorthCare Hospice House or Habitat for Humanity organization in his memory.

Visitation: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.

Private burial will be held April 19th at East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, MO
