Dorothy “Dottie” D. Geniuk, 80, of Olathe, KS passed away Sunday November 22, 2020 at Olathe Healthcare Resort.

She was born Dorothy Dolores Thoele on June 28, 1940 in Olathe, Kansas, better known as the Monticello Township.

In 1956, Dottie fell in love with and married Eugene B. Geniuk. Together they had ten children and were married for 58 years. Dottie accompanied Gene for 22 years in the military service, traveling abroad and in the United States. After retirement from the military, Dottie and Gene settled in the Kansas City area where they adjusted to civilian life.

Dottie spent twenty years in the Smithville, MO community as a professional artist and active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she loved to sing and attend mass. 

Dottie is survived by ten children Diana Hendrix, Steve Geniuk and wife Suzanne, Michael Geniuk, Bernadette Jessee, Denise Brewer and husband Dave, James Geniuk and husband Gary, David Geniuk, Dominic Geniuk and wife Kris, Jeremy Geniuk and wife Sara and adopted daughter Ashely Geniuk; thirty-eight grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Eugene B. Geniuk and eldest son Eugene L. Geniuk.

Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Smithville.
