David Howard Edwards, of Edgerton, MO passed away June 23, 2019.

He was born on June 29, 1948 to Jess Alan and Martha Nell (Howard) Edwards in Smithville, MO where he grew up and in 1966, he graduated from Smithville High School. Dave received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO.

Dave worked at Sunshine Biscuit and retired from the US Postal Service.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville. He was an avid jogger and bowler and enjoyed mountain hiking and golfing. 

Dave was preceded in death by his brother William “Billy” Edwards.

He is survived by children Rick Edwards, Jennifer Wade and husband Brad, Jessica Foster and husband Jerad, Jon Edwards and Joe Edwards; grandchildren Mirah, Lincoln, Pierce, Nora and Noah; parents Jess Alan and Martha Edwards; brother Leslie Edwards and wife Barbara; niece and nephew Tanya Faherty and husband Shane and Aaron Edwards; great-nieces and nephews Seth, Hannah, and Jessie; other relatives and many friends. 

 Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Inurnment: Ridgely Cemetery. 

 Donations may be made to the Ridgley Cemetery or First Baptist Church of Smithville.
