Claude Ray  Miller
Claude Ray Miller, 80, of Smithville, MO passed away, March 1, 2018 at his home.
 
He was born on October 7, 1937 to George Washington and Sylvia (Osborne) Miller in Bakersfield, MO where he grew up and graduated from Bakersfield High School.  He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged.
 
He was united in marriage to Bev Miller.  After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, where they made their home.  His wife, Bev, passed away September 13, 2007.
 
Claude worked for Hallmark Cards and retired after 37 years.  He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with cars and clocks.
 
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and LaVerne Miller, and infant grandson Moroni Shackelford.
 
Claude is survived by his children, Sarah Beth Lovesee and husband Phil, David Miller, and Matthew Miller and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Callirea Shackelford, Phillip Shackelford, Austin McKinzie, Nicholas and Zachary Miller; great-grandson, Bo McKinzie; sister, Barbara Kesner and husband Owen; step-children, Gary Miller, Linda Miller, Glenda Stanfield, Randy Miller, and Pam Cummins and their families; nephews, Kenny and Jeff Kesner, Paul and Robert Miller, and niece Linda Marchand; special friend and caregiver, Wilma Crain; other relatives and many friends.
 
Visitation:  2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5th at Hawkins Ridge Church, Udall, MO visitation at 1:30 p.m.
Burial with military honors:  Hawkins Ridge Cemetery, Udall, MO.
Donations may be made to VFW Post 1828 in West Plains, MO.
