Evelyn Louise “Cindy” Vera, 90, of Merriam, KS passed away December 15, 2020.

Cindy was born June 23,1930 in Kansas City, KS to Simon Benjamin Ward and Leola Eva Gravatt.

She married in 1950 and had 3 children Patricia, David and Diana by 1953. Cindy loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of being a grandma and a great-grandma, as she didn’t have grandparents growing up. She loved watching people and really enjoyed feeding the ducks, squirrels and stray cats. They were her “babies”. In her younger crazier years, she had a Harley motorcycle upon which her trying to do a headstand while operating it didn’t work out so well. Her past few years living in the nursing home were very happy times for her. That was such a blessing. She was loved and will be missed. May she be in the arms of God.

Cindy was preceded in death by her son David M. Vera; brother Wayne and sisters Ardith and Dorothy.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia L Denney (Bob Denney) and Diana L Masden (Paul Masden); grandchildren Rebecca Reddin (Tom), Jennifer Lowry (Patrick), Christine Ingram (Brian), Michael Vera (Rose), Danika Vera, Shawn Vera and Michael Vera; and great-grandchildren Emily, Seth & Samantha Reddin, Mary Kate & Christopher Ingram, Sophia & Nicholas Lowry and Sage Vera.
