Charles Jeffery Cowan, 59, of Smithville, MO passed away, January 3, 2019.

He was born on April 29, 1959 to Wallace and JoAnn (Livingston) Cowan in Kansas City, MO where he grew up and graduated from Park Hill High School. 

 On July 30, 1983 he was united in marriage to Denise D. Breyfogle. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Denise passed away on July 7, 2016.

Charlie worked in maintenance at St. Luke’s Hospital on Barry Road and Cerner both in Kansas City for several years. 

 He was an active member of Smithville Family Worship Center for many years where he served as a deacon. Charlie was an avid football and NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. 

 Charlie was also preceded in death by his parents Wallace and JoAnn Cowan. 

He is survived by children, Hannah Cowan and boyfriend Jonathan Wilson and Samuel Cowan and wife Elizabeth; granddaughter Sawyer; mother Patricia Cowan; brothers and sisters Patrick Cowan, Mary McMullen and husband Steve, Michelle Smotherman and husband Gary and Jeffery Cowan; other relatives and many friends. 

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Smithville Family Worship Center.
