Carla J. (Moore) Manning, 55, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Smithville, MO passed away, Saturday, March 2, 2019.     

She was born on November 25, 1963 to Joseph Thomas and Glenda Jane (Lizar) Moore in Smithville, MO. Carla grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1982.

Carla lived most of her adult life Kansas City. She worked at the Dairy Y, owned and operated American Eagle Airport Service and Carla Jane’s Restaurant in Trimble, MO. She also worked at Trail Woods Elementary.

Carla loved riding horses and was a farm girl. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, baseball, coaching softball and watching her kids’ sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Gene Moore, and her husband James David Manning. 

 Carla is survived by her significant other, Martin Ortiz, Sr; children, Joseph Manning, James (Amanda Bentz) Manning, Lydia (Juan Tovar) Ortiz, Maria Ortiz, Martin Ortiz, Jr., Liliana Ortiz; granddaughter, Kayleigh Manning; one sister, Denise Olea; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation from 5:00-7:30 p.m. prior to the service.
