Andrew Jones
Andrew Maxfield Jones, passed away October 1st, 2017, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Andy was born July 15th, 1942 to Max and Lucile Jones in Leavenworth, Kansas alongside his twin brother Philip M. Jones. A connection was established between the family and the community of Platte City, Missouri through The Landmark newspaper which his parents owned.

He graduated from Platte County High and Northwest Missouri State University, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. It was there that he met the love of his life Anne Simpson, whom
he married.  During their fifty-three years of marriage they rode their motorcycle through forty states, toured ten foreign countriesraised two children and experienced the joys of a life blessed with four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Andy worked forty-one years at Kansas City Southern Railway in database administration.  Andy was a dedicated Bearcat, his favorite pastimes were attending Bearcat sporting events and touring Europe with the
Traveling Bearcats.  Andy also had a flair for more simple enjoyments, and was known for his love of washing cars, mowing his lawn, camping with family and collecting Raggedy Ann & Andy
memorabilia with Anne.  Andy was a supporter of the Platte County Fair and the Platte County Historical Society.  He was a member of Barry Christian Church for thirty-five years and served as deacon and memorial fund trustee.

Andy was a quiet mannered man, not due to any timidity or lack of voice, but rather because he was a man of great intelligence; someone who knew the weight words could bare. He always thought before he spoke, and put careful consideration into the words he chose.

He is survived by his wife Anne Jones, children Troy Jones (Phyllis) and Jill Counts, four grandchildren, Savanah Counts, Orion Counts, Shyanne Warren, & Andrea Jones, and his singular great-grandchild, Greyson Counts; as well as three siblings Philip Jones (Suzanne), Elizabeth Ann Jones, & Dorothy Bridger (David) and many other family, friends and loved ones.
