Andrew J. Swearingin, 88, of Smithville, MO passed away July 22, 2017.
 
He was born on April 16, 1929 to William Herman and Verna Ilene (Cowan) Swearingin in Estella, OK.  Andy grew up and attended school in Hale, MO. 
 
On April 16, 1949 he was united in marriage to Goldie May Nelson.  After their marriage they lived in Parkville, MO where they raised their three sons.  For the last 30 or more years, they have made their home in Smithville.    
 
Andy worked for his sons at Swearingin Construction and Quality Truss Company.
 
Andy loved playing cards and spent many years coaching baseball teams as his boys were growing up.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his earlier years.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Terry Wayne Swearingin, brothers, John and George Swearingin, his sister, Martha Britt, and infant twin grandsons.
 
Andy is survived by his wife, Goldie of the home; sons, Leroy (Roxie) Swearingin, Kalamazoo, MI, Andrew Eugene (Deborah) Swearingin, Smithville, MO, and Daniel (Pamela) Swearingin, Kearney, MO; twelve grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Ruth, Aaron, Adam, Pamela, Brooke, Chad, Benjamin, Christie, Cody, and Lacie; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Sherman Swearingin; sister, Ruby (Gene) Figg; sisters-in-law, Pearl Rhine and Elvalen (Richard) Wiles; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 
 
Funeral Service:  10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Burial:  Terrace Park Cemetery
Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
