Alecia Jane Everett
Alecia Jane (McLarney) Everett, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 11, 2018 after a long 21-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was 81.
 
Jane was born July 7, 1936 to Leonard and Nell (Downey) McLarney. She grew up in rural Hemple, MO and graduated from Gower High School in 1954. 
  
Jane married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Berry Everett on September 28, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Easton, MO. Shortly after, they made their home in Starfield, MO, before moving to her family’s farm in rural Hemple, MO in 1965.  
 
Bob and Jane were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Time together was best spent with family and friends, camping, playing cards and board games, and taking vacations. Many evenings were enjoyed attending sporting events for their grandchildren and great grandchildren. The pride of Jane’s life was family and friends.
 
Jane enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time in the yard, especially mowing. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies.  Jane was a longtime member of the Pleasant Prairie Club and a 4-H leader for several years.
 
An ardent worker, Jane enjoyed work for the sake of work. Jane and Bob operated a grade C dairy at the family farm from 1965 until 1973. She was a bookkeeper at Herman Drug Co, worked in the invoice department at Swift & Co and a nurse’s aide, medication technician and restorative aide for 27 years at the Gower  Convalescent Center.
 
A devout Catholic, Jane was recognized by her church for numerous achievements.  In 2002, Bob and she were honored by Bishop Raymond Boland at the Bishop’s Recognition Mass for volunteer work performed for their church community. Eight years later they accepted the Community Spirit Award from Catholic  Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Jane was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton, MO where she was a religious education teacher and past president of the Altar Society. Also near to Jane’s heart was the St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlin, South Dakota. 
 
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John McLarney; brother-in-law, Bernard Mead; nephew, Steven McLarney and niece, Susan Merrigan.
 
Jane is survived by her loving husband and extraordinary caregiver, Bob, of the home; children, Gary Everett (Susan Tolle) and Nancy Roth (Mike) of Gower, MO;
six grandchildren, Ryan Everett (Mandy), Emily Brown (Kevin), Jordan Roth (Amanda), Kilah Everett (Andrew), Garrett Everett (Kelsey) and Jared Roth; five great-grandchildren, Riley Everett, Ella Brown, Kohen  Brown, Ali Everett and Kruze Brown; sisters-in-law, Floella McLarney, Charlotte Mead and Sharon Elifrits (Laverne); several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  Jane was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
 
Family and friends will gather for a Rosary service on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Easton, MO. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton, MO. 
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Easton, MO.   
 In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorial contributions to: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph’s Indian School
