Emily Madeline Marple
Emily Madeline Marple, 85, of Gladstone, MO, passed away, Friday, February 18, 2011.
She was born on July 14, 1925 to Henry Stanton and Lula Augusta (Robertson) Bond in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where she grew up and graduated from Glenwood Springs High School.
On July 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to David Evan Marple. After their marriage they lived in Colorado, Arkansas, and California. Her husband, David, passed away in 1978, and in 1980 she moved to Gladstone, MO.
Emily was a childcare provider in her home. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Each year she enjoyed her trips to Colorado to visit her family. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Emily was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Orville.
She is survived by five children, Lynda Kinslow and husband, Charlie Kinslow, Robert “Bob” Marple and wife, Geri, LeaAnn Marple, Thomas Marple, and Steven Marple; grandchildren, Misti and husband Sterling, Rusty, Alisha, Jacob, James, Angel, Wes, Josh, Cera, Eric, Crystal, Steven, Johnny, Thomas, and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Krystian, Kyle, Jayden, Brayden, and Summer; sister, Shirley Jones and husband, Johnnie; brother, Henry Emerson “Bud” Bond and wife, Mary; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 21st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation from 5:00-6:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Rifle, CO.
