Elsie Lee (Sharp) Miller
Elsie Lee Miller, 100, of Dearborn, MO passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009.
She was born on October 2, 1908 to William and Cora Alice (Bywaters) Sharp in Platte City, MO. Elsie attended Buckeye Grade School and graduated from Camden Point High School.
On April 5, 1931 she was united in marriage to Edward E. Miller. After their marriage they lived in Independence, MO where they made their home. Her husband Edward passed away in 1966. Elsie then returned to Dearborn where she made her home.
Elsie worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant and later worked until she retired from Isles in Kansas City.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dearborn and was a devout Christian and was always active in the Baptist churches she attended. Elsie loved quilting, gardening and baking.
Elsie was also preceded in death by parents, her sister, M. Anna Chesnut and her brother Albert Dudley Sharp, nephew, Charles W. Chesnut and nephew-in-law, William Bradley Ray.
She is survived by her niece Joanne Ray, Dearborn, MO, nephew’s wife, Anna Mary Chesnut, Sunrise Beach, MO, three great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Burial: Camden Point Cemetery, Camden Point, MO
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Donations: First Baptist Church of Dearborn.
