ELLIS R. POAGE

Ellis Ray Poage, 71, of Grand Prairie, TX, formerly of Gower, MO, passed away, Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at his home.

He was born on November 3, 1934 to John Charlie and Elvira ?Ella? Louvena (Brizendine) Poage in Gower, MO, where he grew up and graduated from Gower High School. Ellis Ray served his country in the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard from 1953 to 1961.

On May 23, 1959 he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Brown. After their marriage they lived in Springdale and Russellville, Arkansas and in 1968 they moved to the Dallas, Texas area where they made their home. Ellis received his BBA in Economics and MBA in International Business and Management from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Ellis Ray worked in various Executive Positions with an expertise in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations .

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Claude Elmer Johnson.

Ellis Ray is survived by his wife, Patty, two daughters; Cheryl Jernigan and husband, Keith, Weatherford, TX, Denise Oliver and husband, Rocky, Grand Prairie, TX, four grandchildren; Caleb and Rachel Jernigan, Jessica and David Oliver, one brother; Winfred C. Johnson and wife, Kaye, Inver Grove, MN, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6th at Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO.
