Elizabeth C. Brown

Elizabeth C. Brown, 83 of Smithville, MO passed away at home, Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
 
She was born on April 28, 1934 to John Fredrick and Myrtie Evonia (Mast) Barber in Liberty, MO.  Liz grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School. 
 
On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Lyle Smith Brown.  After their marriage they moved to the family farm where they made their home together for 63 years until he passed away on March 29, 2016.  
 
She was a lifelong, active member of the Smithville Christian Church.  Liz was a loving aunt to 21 nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, adult coloring and living the farm life.  She was very generous, especially giving to youth and children.  Liz was a friend to everyone she met.  She lived her life like her favorite saying,  “Everyday is a new day”.  
 
Liz retired as a Customer Service Representative from the trucking industry after over 30 years of service.
 
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and sisters Lloyd Barber, Ralph Barber, Glo Brown, Paul Barber and Sara Blummer.  
 
Liz is survived by 21 nieces and nephews; other relatives and many, many friends.
 
Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17th at the Smithville First Christian Church 
Burial:  Smith Cemetery, Smithville
Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 16th at the church.
Donations may be made to the Smithville First Christian Church
