In Remembrance Of

Elizabeth “Betty” Sue (Lincoln) Cregger

Elizabeth “Betty” Sue (Lincoln) Cregger, of Platte City, departed her loving family to be with the Lord on July 2, 2014 at 9:02 p.m.

She was born in Forest City, MO on August 2, 1942 to Paul and Pearl (Grimes) Lincoln both of whom have gone to be with the Lord.  Betty attended High School at Mound City, MO class of ‘60 and then attended Platte Guards Business College in St. Joseph.  After a short period of employment with West Tab in St. Joseph, she married the love of her life in March of ’63 and became Mrs. Robert Cregger.  In the spring of ’65, Betty and Bob moved to a brand new house in Kansas City North where they resided for 18 years.  In the ‘80’s they moved to a small farm in rural Platte County where they remained.

Betty was employed at Edison Credit Union for close to 25 years retiring in 2000, the same time Bob retired from Bayer A. G. with over 25 years.  After a period of time of traveling around the country, they were both ready to “be home.”

Betty received a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in 2008.  They enjoyed life’s blessings each and every day with as much laughter as they could pack into it!  She remained a happy person right up to the very end.  Betty passed away gently and peacefully with her family at her side.

She was preceded in death by her brother Larry Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband Bob of the home; daughters Paula Sue Cregger and Terri Lou Martin and husband John; granddaughter Ashleigh Nichole Cregger; grandson Eli Paul Martin; great-grandson Jacob Austin Cregger; siblings Lynda Mackey and Rodney Lincoln; other relatives and many friends.

The family wishes to gratefully thank Dr. Jeffery Kaplin and his entire staff, Dr. Debra Kieth, Northcare Hospice and Hillview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Platte City.  These groups not only cared for Betty, but her entire family as well.  Thank you for your loving care.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. https://secure3.4agoodcause.com/afa/fundraisers/memorial1.aspx

I just learned about the passing of Betty Cregger and I want to express my sincere condolences to Bob and daughter Paula.

I am not sure if you remember me, but I met Paula at a sailing event in Oakland in 1989 and I fell deeply in love with her.
Since then I had many telephone conversations with Betty and Bob over some time, some of them lasted more than an hour, which I enjoyed very much and I learned that you were very honest and sincere people with values I admire a lot.
This is why you are still on my mind.

All the best to you and more days of sunshine ahead in your hearts

    Norbert
