Elijah Starnes
Elijah W. Starnes, 16, of Smithville, MO passed away, Friday, October 20, 2017.
He was born on July 6, 2001 in Kansas City, MO. Elijah grew up in Smithville and was a Junior at Smithville High School where he played baseball and was in the Color Guard.
Elijah enjoyed playing competitive baseball in the summer. Elijah had a passion for music and dancing. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and kind heart.
Elijah is survived by his father, Chris Starnes; his mother, Erin (Arends) Rubin and husband Dan; siblings, Alyssia, Amadeus, Adreanna, and Easton; grandparents, Dan and Robin Starnes, Boyd and Joy Arends, and Richard and Denise Keastner; great-grandparents, Bill and Margaret Starnes; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation: 5:30-9:00 Wednesday, October 25th at Northland Lutheran Outreach, 1103 S. Commercial, Smithville, MO.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26th at Northland Lutheran Outreach.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elijah Starnes Memorial Fund c/o Platte Valley Bank.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your son, we are praying for you and your family. We go to church with Boyd and Joy and love them so much. We lost our grandson 2 years ago and they loved and held us up. Now we will do the same for them. My heart is hurting for you . This is a horrible tragedy and, unfortunately, I have experienced the same hurt that you are now feeling. You will always love and miss Elijah but with time and your continuous faith in God, you will overcome the excruciating pain that you are now feeling.
