Elaine Kay (Mauzey) Rogers
Elaine Kay Rogers, 67, of Smithville, MO, passed away, April 20, 2010
She was born on December 6, 1942 to Alvin Lawson and Margaret Jeanette (Sullivan) Mauzey in Smithville, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from Smithville High School.
On November 17, 1961 she was united in marriage to William Carl “Bill” Rogers. After their marriage they moved to the Smithville area, where they made their home. Her husband, Bill, passed away, July 4, 2005.
Kay was a nurse’s assistant and a dietary aid at the Smithville Convalescent Center for many years. She later worked at O’Dell Publishing in Liberty until her retirement.
Kay was a member of the Mt. Olivet Christian Church. She enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Smithville Saddle Club. Kay showed llamas and was a member of the Missouri Llama Association and 4-H.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Cindy Smith and husband, Bob, Lathrop; son, Danny Rogers, Smithville; three grandchildren, Nathan, Amy and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Mckayla and Jayden; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
