Elaine Claypoole

Frances Elaine Claypoole, 74 of Platte City, MO passed away February 10, 2016.

She was born on September 28, 1941 to Forest Lee and Lora Frances (Porter) Kamphefner in Platte City.  Elaine grew up on a farm in rural Platte City and in 1959 she graduated from Platte City High School. 

On January 31, 1964 she was united in marriage to Larry Claypoole.  After their marriage they lived in Platte City where they made their home. 

She worked for Platte Clay Electric for 32 years, retiring in 2000.  Elaine enjoyed traveling, day trips, cooking and being with her family. 

Elaine was a lifelong member of the Hillsboro Christian Church where she played the piano for over 60 years. 

 

She was preceded in death by her mother Lora Kamphefner; father Forest Kamphefner; her step-mother Margaret (Simpson) Kamphefner; step-sisters Judy Lamar and Rhonda Mallonee.

Elaine is survived by her husband Larry Claypoole; daughter Sherri Claypoole; step-sister Kay Lindsey; step-brother Randy Simpson; sister-in-law Carolyn VanSickle and husband Robert; several cousins including Joe W. Kamphefner and wife Cindy; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13th at Hillsboro Christian Church, Platte City with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Platte City Cemetery

Donations may be made to Hillsboro Christian Church Building Fund.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
