Eileen Swoboda
Eileen Swoboda, 106, of Plattsburg, MO formerly of St. Joseph, MO passed away, Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
She was born on August 19, 1912 to Karl and Maude Widman in Powhattan, KS.
On July 15, 1937 she was united in marriage to Raymond Charles Swoboda, Sr. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home. Her husband preceded her in death on October 22, 1973. Eileen continued to live in St. Joseph and was later a resident at Oakridge of Plattsburg.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in St. Joseph. Eileen loved to work in her garden and her strawberry patch. She enjoyed canning, baking and cooking holiday meals.
Eileen was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Raymond Swoboda, Jr.; and her sisters, Ruthe Ewing and Maude Ray.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Dooley and husband Dick, San Antonio, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Swoboda, Gower, MO; her grandson, Raymond Swoboda, III, Gower, MO; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
