Edward “Po” Patterson

Edward “Po” Patterson, 89, of Camden Point, MO passed away, March 20, 2017.

He was born on September 2, 1927 to Chester Milton and Gladys (Schrier) Patterson in St. Louis, MO.  Pat grew up and attended school in St. Louis.  He then joined the U.S. Navy.  Pat served for over 22 years, during WWII, Korean and Vietnam, and retired as SK1.

On July 23, 1950, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Lucille Lamar.  After their marriage, his naval career took them across the United States.  In 1960 they moved to San Diego, and after his retirement from the Navy he worked for the U.S. Postal service for 23 years.  In 1989 they moved to Camden Point.  His wife, Dorothy, passed away on May 24, 1995.

Pat was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Platte City.  He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Sea Cadets.  Pat enjoyed collecting model trains.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.  Also, ready to welcome him into Heaven is his wife and children, Debbie, Holly, and Kelly.

Pat is survived by his daughters, Dandra Corrao and Patricia Salgado; grandchildren, Danielle, Kirsten, Che, Robert, Debra, Clancy and Camryn; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elsie Reineke and husband Bud; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25th at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Platte City, MO, with visitation one hour prior at the church.

Burial with Military Honors:  Camden Point Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
