Edith (Sudbury) Parks

Edith Parks, 74 of Smithville, MO passed away,
Wednesday, July 8, 2015.

 

She was born on February 18, 1941 to Marvin and Norma
Mae (Razer) Sudbury in Kansas City, MO. 
Edith grew up in Hardin, MO and graduated as salutatorian from Hardin
Central High School. 

 

In 1961 she was united in marriage to Sidney Earl
Parks.  After their marriage they lived
in the Smithville area, where they made their home.  Her husband, Sidney, passed away, April 29,
2010.

 

Edith retired as the Senior Executive�s Secretary for
United Way in Kansas City.  She enjoyed
fishing, traveling, mushroom hunting and going to the casinos.    

 

She was also preceded in death by his parents and
sister Marty Driver.

 

Edith is survived by her daughter, Deanna Hathaway and
husband Bruce; son, Richard Parks and wife Barbette, all of Smithville; grandchildren,
Kurt Hathaway and wife Katy, Justin Parks and Tayler Peterson and husband Brad;
great-granddaughters Adelynn Mae and Gracie Diane; sister Kathy French and
husband Phil; brother in law Larry Driver; several nieces and nephews; other
relatives and many friends.

 

Visitation: 
10:30-12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral
Home, Smithville.

Graveside Service: 
2:30 p.m. Saturday July 11th Wakenda Cemetery, Hardin, MO
