Edith Marie (Cornelius) Gilmore
Edith Marie Gilmore, 75, of Edgerton, MO, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009.
She was born on May 3, 1933 to John and Wada (Graves) Cornelius in Sedalia, MO. She grew up in the Harrisonville area where she attended school.
In 1947 she was united in marriage to Edgar E. Gilmore. After their marriage they lived in Harrisonville. In 1958 they moved to Platte County and in 1964 moved to Edgerton, MO where they made their home. Her husband, Edgar passed away on May 12, 2004.
Edith was a homemaker who loved raising her children and enjoyed reading.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jim Cornelius and one sister, Geraldine Clintsman.
Edith is survived by her children, Carol Campbell and husband, Scott, Gladstone, MO, Linda Matson and husband, Ernie, Columbia, MO, Everett Gilmore, Jr, and wife, Kathy, Edgerton, MO, Deborah Rankin and husband, Ron, St. Joseph, MO; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Caleb, Jillian, Elizabeth, April and Kathy Ann; five great-grandchildren, Claire, Zane, Cash, Willow and Aidan; three sisters, Sarah Spitler, Anna Aldridge, and Helen Gilmore and husband, Lyle; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25th at Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
