E.J.Hellyer
E.J. Hellyer, 71, of Edgerton, MO, passed away, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home.
He was born on January 31, 1940 to Earl Junius and Callie Ann (Petitt) Hellyer in Smithville, MO. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1958.
On June 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Masoner. After their marriage they lived in rural Edgerton where they made their home. E. J. enjoyed country life. He loved his shop, his wood stove, family and friends.
E.J. worked for Wagner Paint Company in North Kansas City, and retired from TWA after 30 years, retiring in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of home; children, Jeffrey Hellyer and wife Shannon, Dearborn, MO, Katrina Reeves and husband Dennis, Smithville, MO, James Hellyer and wife Allison, Excelsior Springs, MO, Lori Lindstrom and husband Kevin, Kansas City, MO, and AFS daughter, Barbara Heidi and husband George, Gloversville, NY; grandchildren, Jessica, Lisa, Brandon, Bethany, Steffen, Barren, Tyler, Mitchell, Jonathan, Nicholas, Heather, Dakota, Caleb, Jaxon, and Avery; great-grandchildren, Collin and Abigail; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19th at Ridgley Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Edgerton.
At E. J.’s request no suits or ties, the family would like you to wear blue jeans.
