Douglas Kent Adkins

Douglas Kent Adkins of Trimble, MO passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014.

He was born to Franklin Otis and Reba Jean (Sparks) Adkins.  Doug grew up in Trimble and graduated from Plattsburg High School and attended Missouri Western State College. 

Doug started out painting with his father and continued painting on his own.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads, going to the lake and always had his dog Maggy by his side.

He was preceded in death by his father Franklin O. Adkins.

Doug is survived by his children Sean Alexander and wife Courtney and Abbi Adkins; grandchildren, Britney and Tucker; mother Reba Adkins; brothers Dennis Adkins and wife Joy, and Steve Adkins and wife Laura; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial:  Goss Cemetery, Smithville, MO

Donations may be made to Goss Cemetery or Trimble Baptist Church.
