Dottie Mae Land
Dottie Mae Land, 76, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Monday, November 26, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Smithville.
She was born on June 2, 1931 to August W. and Gladys P. (Giles) Knollenberg in Crete, Nebraska where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Doane College, in Crete, Nebraska.
On November 17, 1978 she married Tom Land. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.
Dottie worked for Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville for many years. Dottie also worked for Visiting Nurse’s Association, volunteered for Rehab Stroke Unit at Spelman, and was a volunteer for Smithville Ambulance and North Kansas City Hospice.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Connie Anderson.
She is survived by husband, Tom of the home, children, Lori Barnard and husband, Michael, Bolivar, TN, Stacy Wheeler, Kearney, MO, Wayne Land, Houston, MO, Vicki Thomas and husband, Richard, Smithville, MO, Debbie Shook and husband, John, Houston, MO, and Tom Land and wife, Glenda, Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dick Knollenberg, Oshkosh, WI; two sisters, Jeanette Butler, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Helen Fletcher, Colorado Springs, CO, several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home Smithville
Burial: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
